Our vacation home is located in the small Ontario beach town of Port Burwell, on Lake Erie.  Situated on a large double lot, both the main house and the (smaller) beach house have been fully updated with all the modern amenities.  Great for a week at the beach or a seasonal remote work station.

A Blue Flag beach in 2020, the Port Burwell municipally maintained beach offers a long stretch of sandy shoreline and excellent waters for swimming and splashing around.  Enjoy volleyball nets, picnic tables and space to catch some sun.  Parking is free as are permanent washroom facilities.

 Port Burwell is a great location for spotting migrating hawks, vultures and eagles as well as monarch butterflies and dragonflies.  Try out the Lake Erie Waterfront Trail for a scenic outing.  Visit the Provincial Park, just the other side of Big Otter Creek.  Fish for perch and pickerel.

Rates

  • Availability is year round, subject to COVID-19 regulations.  The main house and beach house are now available.
  • Both the main and the beach houses are fully winterized.
  • 24 hours between guest occupancies is required for detailed cleaning.
  • Rates vary by season and term. 
  • High season runs from June 15 to Sept 15.
  • Normal week 4:00 pm Friday to 1:00 pm Thursday
  • Long weekend 4:00 pm Friday to 4:00 pm Monday
  • High Season rates 
    • Main House    $1,900 weekly 
    • Beach House  $1,400 weekly
  • Off Season Rates 
    • Main House    $    800 weekly 
    • Beach House  $    500 weekly
    • Main House    $ 2,500 monthly
    • Beach House  $ 1,500 monthly
    • Main House    $    600 long wkend
    • Beach House  $    400 long wkend                                                                                                                                                                                               


Beach House Rooms

  • 2 bedrooms upstairs, each with 3 piece ensuite
  • one very large bedroom has a queen bed and a double/twin bunk set.  The other large bedroom has a queen bed.  Sleeps 7.
  • good size eat-in kitchen, SS appliances including fridge, range, dishwasher, microwave and large table seating 6+, patio doors to deck
  • large living room with L-shaped couch and round crafts/games table seating 4
  • front entrance closet and 2-piece powder room
  • partially finished basement includes laundry room, office desk, file cabinets, some exercise equipment and storage shelves

Rules

  

  • Damages The Renter is responsible for any damages, not including normal wear and tear, to the premises or property which occur as a result of the Renter’s occupancy. 
  • Accidents The Owner shall not be responsible for any accidents or injuries  occurring to the Renter or guests of the Renter on the property or premises.
  • Smoking Smoking of any kind is restricted to outdoors.
  • Nuisance The Renter will not create a nuisance, such as excessive noise,  that would disturb the neighbours. 
  • Telephone A telephone is provided. Long distance calls within Canada and the continental USA are included free. Other long distance & toll calls are discouraged and if made will be charged at cost plus a $10.00 fee per call. 
  • Garbage Garbage can be put in plastic bags (provided at the house) and placed in the bin outside or left inside near the door if the bin is full or not available. To minimize spoilage, unwanted food may be left behind in the fridge.
  • Water  Water service is provided by the municipality.
  • Pets  One small well trained dog, no cats. Please take into consideration that the upstairs bedrooms are carpeted.

  • main house has front porch, front upper balcony and side deck.  Balcony has a peekaboo view of the lake.
  • side deck has propane BBQ
  • adjacent yard has picnic table & steel firepit
  • beach house has large deck with gas BBQ, table & chairs
  • back yard has fire pit  Fire wood available.
  • utility storage sheds, with beach and lawn toys
  • 2 parking pads at front, lengthy gravel driveway with lots more parking
  • clifftop view of the lake at the end of the block
